About

George Moore Scholars, a programme of The Ireland Funds, supports talented students to pursue their higher education dream and undertake postgraduate study in the US, Canada, Europe and the UK. The scholarships are awarded to students who have an ambition to make a positive impact in their field of study, examine and tackle our great global challenges, and make a significant difference to wider society.

Scholarships are open to students (young adults and mature students) in all academic disciplines who expect to graduate from their primary degree this academic year, or who graduated from their primary degree the previous year. A limited number of Early Career Scholarships are available to candidates who have graduated in the last five years and who required specific work experience in order to apply for their master's programme, e.g. for those applying to public policy or health policy programmes.

Applicants who are awarded a George Moore Scholarship may combine it with other sources of support or scholarships (e.g. a Fulbright Student Award).

About The Ireland Funds

The Ireland Funds is a global philanthropic network established in 1976 to promote and support peace, culture, education and community development throughout the island of Ireland, and Irish-related causes around the world. It has benefited the work of thousands of different organisations, with both financial and non-financial support. Today, The Ireland Funds is one of the largest independent grant makers for the not-for-profit sector in Ireland.

Vital to The Ireland Funds mission is investing in programmes that widen access to and participation in high-quality education for students of all ages. The George Moore Scholars programme is just one example of how The Ireland Funds empowers individuals through education, creating opportunities for students to learn, grow, and realise their full potential.

US-based Scholars are kindly supported by Sprintax in the preparation of US tax returns.
